Visando a expansão de sua presença na América Latina, a Apple abre duas… bom, dois… como eu poderia explicar? Duas mini-lojas no México. São como os espaços Apple existentes em lojas da Espanha e nas FNACs da França, e um pouco melhorzinhos do que aquele espaço da Apple no Extra em São Paulo, aberto no fim do ano passado.
Pelo visto, a estratégia para toda a América Latina será esta mesmo, pequenas lojas dentro de grandes lojas de departamentos ou em shoppings de mais alto nível. Veja fotos da loja aberta no El Palacio de Hierro, no México.
O que me intriga é a nomenclatura que foi dada (talvez algo feito de última hora) para estas lojas na Cidade do México: Apple shop. Veja a imagem ao lado, retirada do site oficial da Apple no México, onde é possível ver que o texto foi pintado de preto e modificado para Apple shop, e há recortes perceptíveis no gradiente de preto para cinza escuro da imagem do site. Nem tudo é perfeito também no site da Apple México.

As Apple Shops espanholas são sempre nas FNACs. Espaços de 40 a 60 m2, dentro da loja, apenas voltados para o mercado consumer, ou seja, nada de Xserve ou coisas do tipo. Só iPods, iMacs, Mac minis, monitores, talvez Mac Pro, e alguns softwares básicos, como o Leopard.
Mas sempre nas FNACs.

I just wanna tell you something. These mexican Apple Shop are official. Brazilian “shops” arent. Brazil still doesnt have Apple interest.
If the Extra´s Apple Shops were really an Apple SHop, they would appear in http://apple.com/br/buy/shop but NO the page doesnt exist. but mexico has its own like the rest of France, Germany, Spain, etc

DO you think that is having Apple interest? i dont think so, why dont you peple just buy a pc. Mac market is lost in you country. Unless you are stupid enough to pay $2846 for an iMac.
Like i said, in Mexico the prices are the same. The 20-inch iMac cost 15,999 pesos, that is 1400 dollars. So Brazilian iMac cost excactly the double of the mexican one.

In mexico is the same, we have authorized resellers such as SAMS club, Costco, Best Buy, etc
But we ALSO have apple shops and an apple online store.
I bet you that whatever they present in the macworld 08 it wont be available the same day in your authorized resellers . They will be available the same day in the countries the have apple shops and apple online store.

The name of those apple ressellers in EXTRA supermarket is “Store in Store”!!

i Think mexico and brazil are the leading countries in Latin America. Thats why those prices amaze me.
But i dont thine there will be an onlien store in brazil with those taxes problems.
Or maybe there will be, but whith the same high prices.

We have no choice… (about the prices - taxes)
And Apple Brasil is doing its best to get from the local government some kind of negotiation about the taxes. The Mac mini is cheaper now than ever in Brasil. It is still a high price, but, it`s less than the normal price with all those taxes.
But, well… those taxes make Apple think twice before put some money here…
Brasil is a country that doesn`t know a thing about international business and technology. That make us very sad and with no better choices. Or we pay the price, or we try to buy real good products in other countries. (and try to not pay all the taxes if we can)
(PS: the taxes here are like this: 60% + 18% to import an iPod or a Computer from the US. (+ the tax from the US ~5 to 8%) Sad, uh? Very, very sad.
