A Apple, no intuito de acelerar a popularização do Safari, parece ter licenciado o Mobile Safari — atualmente utilizado apenas pelo iPhone e iPod touch — para a Samsung. É isso mesmo. O Mobile Safari fará sua estréia em gadgets não Apple muito em breve.
A Samsung anunciou hoje que lançará o SGH-L870, um celular que tem como sistema operacional o Symbian, ainda em agosto deste ano na Europa.
O L870, que será destinado ao consumidor corporativo, virá carregado com o Symbian 9.3, a terceira edição da interface S60 e o Feature Pack 2. Terá alguns poucos aplicativos padrão como o Mobile Safari, um gerenciador de tarefas, um leitor de cartões e outros.
Suas especificações são até interessantes: câmera de 3-megapixels, display QVGA de 2.4 polegadas com resolução de 240×320, rádio FM, Bluetooth estéreo, expansão microSD, tri-band GSM e UMTS/HSDPA de 3,6Mbps.
Agora, só resta saber se este celular é uma tentativa da Samsung pegar uma carona no sucesso do iPhone ou é só a Apple tentar aumentar o market-share do Safari. Mas, com certeza, o relacionamento entre as duas empresas está ótimo. Só para se ter uma idéia, a Samsung é o maior fornecedor de memória flash da Apple.
